It's not generally for random search data. I don't think you understand what people actually use Siri for. Can you tell Google Voice Search to "call my wife", or "show me the latest email from my boss", or "tell me when my brother leaves work"?įor what many people use (try) Siri for, Google's Voice Search did a near identical job, sometimes even faster. You're doing exactly what we already know is advantageous for Google. It sounds like what you did was look for pretty normal search data. Where's the confusion? I hate to sound like an ad, but it's an AI that recognizes natural language, understands your relationships, maintains context, and integrates with a bunch of your apps, data, and services. I'm curious as to what you mean by "digital assistant." Hopefully with Forstall fired, we'll see that sometime soon.

Having only seen videos of how Google Now is on Android 4.2, and as much as I enjoy using Siri, I really think Apple needs to step up their game with how it gets results and delivers them to the user. (which is a feature of Android's similar Google Now), and Siri responds with a lot more quips, which definitely compliment to the whole "personal" aspect of the responses, but for what many people use (try) Siri for, Google's Voice Search did a near identical job, sometimes even faster. Obviously there's the lack of integration with calendars, contacts, alarms, etc. An example of this is asking about a flight or how far away a city is with both, Siri failed to respond with anything useful. After trying the identical requests with Siri, nearly all of Google's were on par, or even better than Siri's responses (a lot of which were largely irrelevant Wolfram Alpha cards). I was playing with the new Google app earlier today, and I was surprised how well contextualized the results were. I'm curious as to what you mean by "digital assistant."
